Salsify pricing: what is known and what to request in writing

Salsify publishes no price list. Its PXM pages offer demo requests and a sales contact, seen on 14 October 2026, and PIM Selection has no verified Salsify pricing model. Buyers scope three product lines, PXM, SXM and the PXM Network, then request a written quote per line. The pending Cinven deal makes renewal caps part of the price.

How is Salsify priced?

Salsify sells on quote and publishes no price list, so every Salsify price comes from a sales conversation. The PXM pages offer demo requests and a contact link, seen on 14 October 2026. PIM Selection has no verified record of Salsify's pricing units. The full vendor record sits in the PIM vendor directory.

What Salsify does publish is its product structure. The PXM page groups products into three lines:

Product line Components named by Salsify Price (seen 14 October 2026)
PXM PIM, syndication, Intelligence Suite Not published
SXM Supplier Experience Management for retailer supplier onboarding Not published
PXM Network GS1-certified GDSN data pool, Digital Shelf Analytics, Open Catalog Not published; Open Catalog described as free

The PXM Network is the part that sets Salsify apart from PIM-led alternatives, and it is also the part buyers most often over-scope. In PIMvendors selections, brands list the retailers they will actually connect in the next 24 months before asking for a network quote.

Use this structure to scope the quote. A brand that needs PIM and syndication only should see a different price from one that adds GDSN and shelf analytics.

What drives Salsify cost?

Scope across the three product lines is the cost driver you control. Because Salsify publishes no pricing units, the drivers below are the items PIMvendors recommends having priced separately.

Request a separate price for each of these items:

  • Product lines: PXM, SXM and each PXM Network service, including the GDSN data pool and Digital Shelf Analytics.
  • Retailer endpoints: the number of retailer and marketplace connections in scope.
  • Catalogue volume: SKU count today and at three times that count.
  • Users and locales: named users, markets and languages.
  • AI: the Angie embedded PXM agent and Intelligence Suite, with any usage limits.
  • Environments: sandbox and test environments.
  • Support tier: service levels and customer success services.
  • Partner apps: PXM App Center apps that carry their own fees.

Separate prices per item let you compare Salsify line by line with PIM-led alternatives. A single bundled figure hides which part of the scope drives the total.

The PIM pricing models guide explains how channel and module pricing behaves as a brand adds retailers.

What does Salsify cost beyond the licence?

The licence is the smaller part of a Salsify budget in most PIMvendors selections. Implementation, integration and channel work usually carry more of the five-year cost.

Budget for these items alongside the Salsify quote:

  1. Implementation partner: configuration, data model design and project management.
  2. Integration: ERP, DAM and commerce connections.
  3. Retailer set-up: mapping to each retailer's requirements and resolving validation errors.
  4. Data work: cleansing, enrichment and migration.
  5. Internal team: product content owners and IT time after go-live.

Retailer requirements change after go-live, so channel maintenance is a recurring cost. Assign an owner and a monthly budget for it before signing, because the licence does not cover your team's time. The PIM cost guide lists ten cost categories. The PIM TCO calculator turns them into a five-year comparison between Salsify and the Salsify alternatives on your shortlist.

Which negotiation levers work with Salsify?

Contract protections carry as much value as the discount while the Cinven acquisition is pending. Salsify agreed in July 2026 to be acquired by Cinven, with closing not confirmed as of 14 October 2026.

In PIMvendors negotiations, four levers carry most weight here:

  • Renewal caps: cap annual increases for the full term, including renewals after the ownership change.
  • Fixed future prices: agree written prices for product lines and endpoints you plan to add.
  • Change of control: include termination or price-protection rights if ownership changes.
  • Parallel finalist: negotiate alongside a second finalist, so Salsify prices against a live alternative.

Term length needs care during the transition. A longer term protects price only if the renewal cap and exit rights survive the ownership change.

Anchor high on the full scope and keep the deeper discount as fallback for the final round. The PIM licence negotiation guide sets out the sequence and timing.

What should you ask Salsify on the sales call?

Arrive with a written list and request every answer in writing as part of the quote. These requests cover what the public pages leave open.

  • Ask for the pricing units Salsify uses, such as SKUs, users, endpoints or modules.
  • Ask for a price per product line: PXM, SXM, GDSN data pool and Digital Shelf Analytics.
  • Ask for the price at today's SKU count and at three times that count.
  • Ask for the number of retailer connections included and the price per extra connection.
  • Ask for AI usage limits for Angie and the Intelligence Suite.
  • Ask for sandbox environments and support service levels included.
  • Ask for the renewal cap and the change-of-control clause.
  • Ask for data export terms and formats at contract end.

When a vendor is changing owner, the price you sign is only as good as the renewal cap behind it. Anchor high on scope, keep the deeper discount as fallback and get the cap in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Does Salsify publish its prices?

Salsify does not publish a price list. Its PXM pages offer demo requests and a contact link, seen on 14 October 2026, and PIM Selection has no verified record of how Salsify structures its prices. Buyers should request a written quote that prices each product line and each volume assumption separately, so the quote can be compared with alternatives.

What is free in Salsify?

Salsify describes its Open Catalog as an open, standardised and free product catalogue within the PXM Network. Free access to a catalogue is a different offer from a PXM licence, so it does not indicate what the platform costs. Confirm in writing which network services are included in a paid contract and which carry fees.

How does the Cinven acquisition affect Salsify pricing?

PIM Selection has no information on Salsify price changes linked to the Cinven deal agreed in July 2026. An ownership change is a reason to secure contract protections: renewal caps for the full term, fixed prices for modules added later, change-of-control clauses and data export terms. Request these in the same round as the discount.

What does Salsify cost beyond the licence?

Beyond the Salsify licence, buyers pay for an implementation partner, ERP and DAM integration, retailer channel set-up, data migration, data model design, internal team time and training. In the PIMvendors view, these items together usually exceed the licence over five years. The PIM TCO calculator on PIM Selection structures all ten cost categories.
